Volunteer work
If you want to learn about our sustainable living technologies and at the same time support our project, you will enjoy volunteering with us. We offer several options.
Voluntariado de corto plazo

Short term volunteer work
1. Voluntariado verde
Todos los domingos más cercanos a la luna menguante de cada mes (ver fechas para 2013) habrá voluntariado verde. Venga y disfrute con nosotros de un dÃa trabajando la tierra, sembrando y cosechando. Dependiendo del mes en particular, elaboraremos composta
bio-intensiva, prepararemos la tierra con la doble excavación o excavación sencilla, haremos semilleros, deshierbe, abonado, cosecha y empaque, recolección y procesamiento de semillas, y otras actividades de campo.

El voluntariado verde inicia a las 8:30 de la mañana y el trabajo de campo termina a medio dÃa. Luego compartimos un almuerzo (usted puede traer su propia comida o comprarla acá). Además, disfrutamos siempre de alguna actividad cultural durante o después del almuerzo y usted también puede improvisar y compartirnos sus habilidades artÃsticas. Por último, usted tendrá la oportunidad de conocer a miembros de la comunidad y adquirir productos de la finca y de la zona (entre otros: aderezos para ensaladas, conservas de frutos salvajes, miel de abeja ecológica, y café amigable con el ambiente y de calidad Tarrazú).

Estas actividades son completamente gratuitas (únicamente, pedimos una colaboración voluntaria para los artistas) y cada persona debe llegar a la finca por sus propios medios. (Consulte nuestro croquis con la dirección y las opciones de transporte público). El cupo es limitado, por lo que es importante reservar como máximo una semana antes.

1. Green Volunteer work

On the Sunday closest to the waning moon of each month (see dates for 2012) there will be green volunteer work available. Come enjoy a day of working the land, planting and harvesting with us. Depending on the particular month, we will prepare bio-intensive compost, we will prepare the ground with simple or double excavation, we will maintain our seedbeds, weeding, fertilizing, harvesting and packaging, collection and processing of seeds and other field activities.

Green volunteer work begins at 8:30 AM and field work ends in the middle of the day. Then we share a lunch (you may bring your own food or buy it here). In addition, we will enjoy a cultural activity during or after lunch and you are also welcome to improvise and showcase your own artistic skills. Finally, you will have the opportunity to meet members of the community and purchase products from the farm and the Los Santos region. Products include: salad dressings, canned wild fruit, organic honey, and high quality, earth-friendly Tarrazú coffee.
These activities are completely free (we only ask for a voluntary contribution for artists) and each person must arrive at the farm by their own means. See our map with the address and public transport options. Space is limited, so it is important to make reservations one week before the event.

Special volunteer work and informative visits
Si usted coordina o pertenece a algún grupo y le gustarÃa organizar una actividad de voluntariado verde o cultural en una fecha y horario que sea más conveniente para el grupo, podemos adaptarnos a sus necesidades.

De igual manera, si no desean involucrarse activamente en las actividades del proyecto pero sà desean conocerlo, o informarse sobre nuestra visión del desarrollo sostenible y los proyectos que desarrollamos con la comunidad, o sobre el método de cultivo
bio-intensivo y la permacultura, podemos organizar visitas guiadas y charlas informativas o motivacionales.

Esta es una opción excelente para introducir el tema del desarrollo sostenible y la responsabilidad social y ambiental en grupos de escuelas, colegios, scouts, adultos mayores, corporaciones, asociaciones de empleados, etc.

If you are the coordinator for, or belong to, a group and would like to arrange a green or cultural activity at a specific date and time that is most convenient for your group, we are able to adapt to your needs.

Similarly, if you do not wish to be actively involved in the activities of the project but if you want to know more, or to inquire about our vision of sustainable development and the projects that we developed with the community, or on the method of bio-intensive cultivation and permaculture, we can organize guided tours and informative or motivational talks.

This is an excellent option for introducing the topic of sustainable development and social responsibility for environmental groups in schools or colleges, or for scouts, adults, corporations or associations of employees, etc.
2. Voluntariado cultural
Si usted es una persona que se dedica al arte o simplemente tiene alguna habilidad artÃstica (música, poesÃa, pintura, danza, teatro, etc.), le invitamos a donarnos su tiempo de al menos dos formas:
​1. Puede ayudarnos a ejecutar alguna de las actividades culturales de los dÃas de voluntariado verde o de nuestras actividades de intercambio cultural.
2. Puede involucrarse en alguno de los proyectos de apoyo a la comunidad en el campo artÃstico y cultural (por ejemplo, elaboración de murales; clases de poesÃa, música o artes plásticas; clases de danza, teatro o tÃteres; organización de un cine-foro, etc.). Estas actividades artÃsticas y culturales con la comunidad, se pueden llevar a cabo fuera del espacio de El Casquillo y su objetivo es compartir con las comunidades locales nuevas tendencias y avances que se dan en estos campos a nivel nacional o internacional, con el fin de estimular la creatividad.

Por favor escrÃbanos y déjenos sus datos personales y el área artÃstica o cultural en la que le gustarÃa colaborar. Nosotros le pondremos en nuestra base de datos y le llamaremos para coordinar su participación de acuerdo a su disponibilidad.

Cultural volunteer work

If you are artist or simply have some artistic skill (music, poetry, painting, dance, theater, etc.) we invite you to give us your time in one of two ways:
1. Help us run some of the cultural activities during our Green Volunteer work days or our during our cultural exchange activities.
2. Get involved in any of the projects in support of the community in the cultural and artistic field (for example, painting of murals, poetry, music or visual arts; classes from dance, theatre or puppet; film discussion, etc.). These artistic and cultural activities with the community can be conducted outside our El Casquillo farm with the purpose of sharing new trends and developments that occur in these fields at the national and international level in order to stimulate creativity.
